Well I hardly keep up to date with everything concerning hardware so...

I've been looking to upgrade, but I am wondering about a few things. Basically, could I use DDR2 ram on a motherboard that is DDR3 standard memory? Such as this motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P35T-DQ6 LGA
With this ram: OCZ Flex XLC 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1150

Another question, sorta if not to the first one, what if the memory standard on a motherboard is lower than that of the ram, would it still work together? such as this motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DQ6 LGA with the same ram as in the first question.

Asked couple people, but wanted to get more confirmations and this seems to be obviously the best place. Thanks!

You cannot use DDR2 memory in the DDR3 slots, just like you cannot use DDR in DDR2 slots.

This motherboard's memory standard is DDR3 1333, this is the minimum.

A RAM slot intended for DDR memory will not work with DDR2 or DDR3. A DDR2 slot will not work with DDR or DDR3. A DDR3 slot will not work with DDR or DDR2. You need to match the memory type that the motherboard uses.

The second board will be able to use the memory you linked, although if you're not overclocking you could buy much cheaper memory.

Absolutely. I didn't notice that the second MB link was for a different MB, supporting DDR2 RAM.
