Looking to buy THIS board.

I already own THIS RAM. (512 x4)

I ask for compatibility check because one of the Newegg consumer consumer comments suggests that this board won't hold DDR800, but will hold DDR667 (which my RAM is). But they also go on to say that the board will only hold RAM with voltages up to 1.8V. The RAM I have is rated at 2.2V. So I'm a bit thrown off there.

Is anyone savvy enough to say for sure whether or not my RAM will work with the MB in question?

Im a noob but i have been reading on mobos and ram. Im under the impression that any mobo regardless wont even boot with ram that has more than 1.8volts. You would have to boot with 1.8v ram then change it up to 2.x then swap? i dunno tho maybe someone can tell me if im wrong or right :)

... huh?

haha, so confused. You're suggesting that I'd have to buy RAM just to boot it, and then swap my 2.x RAM into it? Surely there are MBs that can boot with high-voltage RAM. (hoping I can with this one)

By the way, hello lurker! :)

I have that board, and I have the Ballistix DDR2-800. However I have no processor to see if this works. But from what I have gathered the MB will only support 1.8v memory. Which is stupid considering no DDR2-800 exists yet with 1.8v.

But I'm interested to see what the others have to say.

Intel chipsets, as a general rule, don't do "x4" RAM chips on unbuffered DIMMs.
