compatibility between .NET and older versions of c++

my programming class still uses c++ 5.0 pro. are there any compatibility issues between the .cpp format from .NET and older versions? (i.e., would i be able to open a file i created with .NET using an older version of c

Uh...a .cpp file is a text file, and I'm sure you can open workspaces in the new version. The language is the same, although with many microsoft specfic extensions to it. You should have no problems.
