Compatibility b/t old Ghost images/boot floppy and Ghost 9.0

I recently acquired Ghost 9.0. The backup images it creates are "Symantec Backup Files" not the .gho and .ghs files that I'm familiar with.

For years, I've had a solitary Ghost boot floppy (now converted to a bootable CD-ROM) that just boots into the simple DOS-type window and I create/restore my images.

Can the "old Ghost" from the bootable CD "see" the newer "Symantec Backup Files" and vice versa?

Thanks for any light you can shed on the subject. :)

I would guess that the new ghost can read the old images but I doubt the old ghost would be able to read the new image types.

Backwards compatibility is usually easier than planning for something that may exist in the future.

Thanks guys; your info is helpful. That table was a good reference. I guess I'll just have to experiment w/it. I didn't use any option switches or anything like that...just plain ghost images.
