Looking to get the 5900FX non ultra. I have the 9700 Pro right now and i know that when using my DVI for my dell 2000FP lcd monitor i cant set the resolution higher than 1280 in games or it causes Serious problems. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about wether or not the 5900 has the same problems? Also i have a 350W antec right now, just upgraded ti new 2.6 800, p4p800D, 2 hd, 2 cd, is this still enough to power my machine or is it necisary to upgrade?😕

Thanks in advance

forgot to add one thing, i have noticed the 5800 are actually more than the 5900 now, is there a performance diffrence there that shouldnt be?

Well the fx5900 shouldn't have any problems with setting the res above 1280, but then neither should the 9700 pro. And that price thing, yeah, go figure, they sell the lower performing card for more. Makes no sense to me. The 5800 should be $200 really..

Probably because there are supposedly so few of them.

not to mention those 5800s are expensive to make

I dont think its your video card that has the problem. I think that your lcd screen cant handle anything above 1280x1024. What is the LCD rated for? What are the max resolutions and refresh rates. Remember, LCD's are different animals than CRT's.

Let us know...
