CompatableDVD drive with Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe

My Plextor 712SA/SW locks up with Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe. Can someone give me some feedback on compatible DVD's

Dont use nvidia IDE drivers, use microsoft drivers instead. You can change them in device property for the nvidia controller

Thanks for info. If I use an IDE DVD can I use the nvidia IDE drivers?
