Compatability with MS Office 2003, Microtek 4900 scanner, & WordPerfect Office 10

Hi Guys !!
As this is my 1st. build with Vista 64 was wondering if someone knew if it has Compatability with MS Office 2003, Microtek 4900 scanner, & WordPerfect Office 10
Any common programs that it won't run with Street Atlas etc.

I don't want to just jump in & install XP stuff & wipe out Vista , like what happened to my wifes portable when an embroidery reader crashed her bigtime & she had to do a fuull install !!

Office 2003 will run fine, I can't comment on the others.

Appreciate your HELP & anyones help, especially for the Microtek 4900 scanner, as it's my favorite & i use it to send stuff to my son overseas in the USAF...

Microtek's Support site shows no drivers for Vista at all for the 4900 scanner.

Q: Does Microtek support the Windows Vista Operating system?

A. At this time Microtek Lab is in the process of developing Vista Certified drivers for several Microtek products. Once the certification process is completed, the information will be published on the Microtek Lab support web site at http://www.support.microtek.com/. Please note that Microtek Lab does not guarantee that Vista Certified drivers will be developed for all scanner models. If a Vista Certified driver is released for your scanner model, the driver will be posted for download on the Microtek Lab support site. Please continue to check the Microtek Lab support site for Certified Vista driver updates.

However, until certified drivers are developed and released, please use the latest Windows XP drivers for your scanner. You can download the latest Windows XP driver for your scanner model at http://www.support.microtek.com/. When installing the Windows XP driver on a Windows Vista operating system, you will encounter the Microsoft digital signature warning. Just allow the driver to be installed by simply clicking on the install the driver software anyway option.

Thanks Rebate Monger, hope the XP drivers work Okay.. I did a lot of googleing & reading different forums trying to find something out on the 4900 scanner.. It's a fine product & i really hope they support this one with Vista 64 drivers....
Will download the latest for XP & give it a whirl !!
After my wife having to raise her computer from the dead [complete reinstall Vista ] after installing USB embroidery card reader, i thought i'd ask for advice !!

ps; i did install Office 2003 this morn'n & all appears so good so far, except having trouble getting Outlook to work with my DSL carrier & yahoo email !!
