Compatability, DVI and VGA - please help

Hi,

I hope one of you can help answer my question which is probably very basic. I have a Sony Vaio K25 notebook and I'm thinking about buying an Apple Cinema Display 23" monitor for it. However, my notebook only has a VGA output and the Apple monitor requires a DVI display connection.

My question is this - will it work if I simply buy a VGA to DVI adaptor? I have called Sony support but gave up on getting through. As you can probably tell, im very inproficient when it comes to these things, so hopefully one of you can tell me the right answer, or guide me in the right direction.

what you also have to consider is if the Vaio has a video card capable of 1920x1200

try contacting apple

or look on http://www.apple.com

It does have a video card capable of 1920x1200 - I know that much. I called Apple, but they couldn't answer..
