Can anyone point me to a resource that does a direct benchmark comparison of a Xeon processor and a P4 processor at the same clock speeds? I can get a Dell Precision workstation for about $400 after trade in on my old workstation. I just don't know if I should go Xeon or P4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to read this article at Game PC. Game PC has a ton of other Xeon blurbs that are well worth reading.

Going Xeon generally means going dual, in which case you should log on to 2CPU and check out Team Xeon. FWIW, even though my Xeon box is slower than the P4 system I use at work, it's feels faster and never bogs down. I doubt I will ever go back to a single CPU system.

Thanks for the links...the information I have seen shows that the performance is about the same as a same speed P4. Incidentally, I orderd the Dell Precision Workstation 450 with as single Xeon 2.4 with HT. I'm looking forward to receiving it next week so that I can add a fast video card and my SCSI disks.
