Hey guys, I wonder what the performance difference would be between a XP2000 (1666mhz) vs a XP1600 overclocked to 1666 mhz (166 FSB x 10.0)

Overclocking the 2000+ is tempting, but its a retail processor and I don't want to void that warranty =)

Thanks

Hit the nail on the head.

Though be forewarned, no overclock is guaranteed, and you might not even hit 1.6ghz.

i'm hitting 2000 speeds with my xp1600. 10.5x160. runs prime95 for hours on end while doing other things with no problems. good luck overclocking because as mentioned above, there are no guarantees!

I forgot to mention, I'm not trying to depress SportSC4 from overclocking. Heck, I ran an AthlonXP1600 @ 1.9ghz, for 2300+ for a while. Even if its more than likely you'll hit the speed you want to hit, just don't rely on an overclock for a purchase.
