Let's say I have 2 server with Dual Xeon Quad Core at 1.6Ghz, that's 16core running at 1.6ghz. How much memory should I have to run Folding@Home? How well will it perform? How does it perform compare to ATI GPU? Does anyone use Dual Quad Core?

Thanks

Well if you have 16 cores running at 1.6GHz each I would recommend running 2 SMP clients on each server - should take about a day per WU (4 WUs/day with 16 cores) with -advmethods and the Beta SMP clients. I'm running the Windows SMP client on a dual-core rig right now and I'm using about 300MB memory. You probably want at least 1GB per quad processor, with 2GB+ recommended.

each SMP client will create 4 threads, so 2 clients running on each server
