Quadro fx 3000 vs Quadro fx 1100.
Upgrading an agp card in an xw8000 workstation. Current card is a firegl t2 128mb. The fan is not spinning and it's hot as shizznit. Still working though.

The 1100 is more energy efficient and I think I can find one cheaper. I believe the architecture is better and it has more Shader Processing Units than the 3000. Both are ddr2 but the 3000 has faster memory speed and 256mb vs 128 in the 1000.

Which would you choose and why?
Thanks!

If you are considering upgrading an AGP computer, I wouldn't, I would get a new computer.

I would like to consider this thread unresolved. Anyone have any input on the decision in question?
This computer was free and it runs fine. I think the graphics card is going to melt itself though. I can spend $20-$30 replacing it and have computer to mess with or sell/donate as a fine web browsing/office machine.
xp pro/4Gb(3.37Gb) ram/2 X 3.2Ghz Xeons (not placing it in the alley)
I have 2011 Mac Pro and a BYO PC I built for Avid Media Composer so no need to buy a new computer.

Personally, I'd take a fan out of my big box 'o fans and zip-tie it to the card. If you're definitely looking for a new card, grab the cheapest AGP card you can out of FS/T. Which reminds me...

Honestly youre best bet is to ditch AGP, or put a fan on that card with zip ties. But to answer your question I would get the 1100.
