Comparing new Laptops

I've been comparing new laptops and seem to keep running into the apples vs oranges.

Should I go with intel core 2 quad core Q6700 or duo extreme X6800 and how do I compare when the next system has extreme x7900.

How do I compare against 2 nvidia 8700 MGT or 2 nvidia 8800GTX when they both claim SLI

Well the 8800's run circles around the 8700's. Considering the 8700m is just an overclocked 8600m gt.

If you are looking at lappies with desktop CPU's go with the Quad as it will be more futureproof then the duo extreme not mention a couple hundred cheaper.

www.notebookreview.com is a good place to start when it comes to finding out about laptops. People are just starting to receive their 8800 GTX notebooks so reviews and impressions are starting to pop up.

What do you plan with quad core for? Playing Crysis?

I just noticed that xoticpc.com dropped its sager 9262 option with the 8800gtx 's. Makes me wonder if there is a problem with delivery ie shortage of cards.
Anyone know anybody that has recieved one yet?

AFAIK no one has received their 9262's yet. I heard that motherboard revisions and what not were needed and every reseller has been pushing back their ship date of this laptop whether it be a rebranded Sager or original Clevo model.
