Comparing Celeron 440 to Xeon L3014?

I don't know how server processors run. But it seems the 3014 would outperform the 440. It has EIST, 3MB cache, and a stock clock of 2.4 Ghz - and 5 watts less power than the 440.

So why would this not be an awesome single-core processor? I know I'm ignorant, someone explain please 😀

The L3014 would certainly be much better than a 440. Not only is the cache 6x larger, but it's running on a higher clock speed and front side bus.

The Xeon would be much faster.
However, good luck finding a Socket 771 board for cheap.
