Easy :

the War on Drugs is an ignorant attempt by politicians to dictate how we live our lives and therefor the will not allow anything to stop it. Whereas the other case is doesn't threaten the politicians and hence they don't care.

In other words, the second would reduce the power of the Federal Government over the people and the first has no effect on their power.

Oh, you sick? Too f'ing bad, you're going to prison

WTH is wrong with our justice system? Why does the white collar woman get off and the poor schlep ready to breathe her last is skewered?

I don't know, but sure highlights the inconsistancy in our justice system

While reading the first one, I was thinking "hmmm... if she has to go to prison we'll (taxpayers) will prolly have to pick up her tab for medical care". Maybe it would be better to confine her to her house and make her pay her own bills.

Then after reading the second one, I didn't know what to think.

Then it occured to me the HP case was in N California and 9th curcuit is weird. But now looking back so is the second case. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
