I'm looking at buying a used compaq but it's a desktop and I want a tower. Can you put a compaq in a regular case or do their m.boards & stuff have to have a compaq case? i.e. regular atx pwr connectors and such.

Thanks!!

Hmmmm, most of their computers are proprietary and require inferior connections and so forth to operate.

Good luck, maybe you could get a case and just start drilling holes?

Some have properiarity ones, some dont, the DeskPro's we use at work have standard ATX cases.

Look at Compaq's site.

Yeah, we had the new Compaq Presario desktops at Circuit City--the new Presario cases seem to be standard ATX.

Compaq has not made a desktop (edit: style case) presario in around 4 years (unless you count the blue slug and a horrid cyrix model)

are your buying a deskpro/Evo or a POS 6 year old presario?
