My friend has just bought me his compaq deskpro which he was given by someone in his IT dept
It was very basic, 333 celeron, 32 meg mem, 4.2HD, Win 98 original. No CD rom and no soundcard.
I have added 64 meg of memory and a CD rom with no problems, but installing a sound card has been a nightmare.
Software appears to install ok but device manager shows problems with PCI multimedia audio device and ISA plug and play bus.
When i try to reinstall the drivers for these i get the message, Windows was unable to install the device Error code 69
Same problem when i try to install a new graphics card. This is driving me slowly crazy. Anyone out there help a crazy person.
