I want to replace the standard 60gb hard drive with a higher capacity one.I chatted with HP tech and they said I can only use a 60gb max.Anyone want to help me verify this? The laptop uses a IDE HD and I thought that a higher capacity hd with IDE would work but apparently not.Maybe something to do with the bios?

I replaced the 60 GB HD in this laptop almost immediately with the 80 GB Seagate.

I don't know if you can do it with any higher capacities, but any IDE HD should be fine here, IMO.
