pretty heavy...but the brightview screen is nice...the graphic card is certainly not going to play the latest and greatest game...no dvd burner is a downer. but for 1000 for a hp i guess its ok?
it really depends on what you are going to use it for. for gaming...big no no...basic computing + photo editing and such tasks...its ok. for vid editing...im not sure...maybe someone else has an answer. but what will you be using this for exactly.

Come back with what you're going to be using it for and we'll get you squared away
biggest thing: sitting plugged in at a desk or you planning to take it out & about?

I'll be taking it out and about. I'm not going to have to lug it around very far so a larger laptop is not a concern. Using it for basic computing, photo editing, music, and light gaming. Probably the most demanding game that I'd want to put on it is MOHAA. I really liked the briteview screen. I'm open to alternate suggestions.

I'd get the older 3000z model. It can be had for as little as half the price, and a similar configuration could cost you as much as 300$ less. You lose the BrightView screen and the 125mbps wi-fi (which is useless, except for in a home network), but I doubt either are worth that much money to anyone.

That laptop MIGHT play MOHAA, MIGHT. For a sure bet I would look at the Gateway 7xxx series; 15.4" widescreen, Radeon 9600, 512MB-1GB, Athlon 64. They can get down to $1200 on sale @ Best Buy (instant rebates)
