AFAIK it was 1 per customer, however some cities have multiple stores. You can get friends/family to go with you and they can each get one.

When I got to the Wal-mart I was 25 of 50 inline at 10:45 me and my friend both got one seems like good laptops for the money

I bet he didn't get out of line...people at the walmart I was at were so anxious if anyone even breathed near the line. They wouldn't even let people save spots, it was pretty intense...
