Compaq Presario V2000 hdd upgrade

hello guys,

I have an old Compaq Presario V2000 (EV889PA#ACJ)

I want to upgrade its hdd, its PATA and just 60GB
I searched for 2.5" ide drives and they are really costly as compaired to the sata drives.
And it has a dvd drive(odd) which has its r/w head stuck at the center (m unable to fix it) and it wont read any disk,
So I was thinking about getting an ide odd bay for sata hdd to upgrade my hdd..

will that work for the laptop ?
Need your help in this regard
TYSM in advance

Get a 2.5" IDE SSD, they make them. They're a little bit more expensive than your run-of-the-mill 2.5" SATA SSD though, because the IDE ones have lower market volumes.
