hey ok sorry for takin up a thread but my ? is i have an old computer i need to use for one thing an one thing only it has a vga port but is no good to me being my tv only has hdmi.. so im trying to find a video/graphics card for it but dont know what an where to look for one an i keep hearing about PCI and AGP cards an idk either one.... if i can find one with at least a dvi port on it i can get a dvi to hdmi cable an then im set so if any one on here can help that would be amazing..... o an also it can take up to 2 gb of ram iv beem told but read it can take up to 4gb if someone can clear that up as well that would be great thanks again for taking the time to help... cause im feelin a bit bout all of this...... the date of the pc i think is 10/13/2003

also like i said its avery old pc compaq presario s5000j here is all i have found about it system #P8656S serial# MXP3420016.. also AMD athlon XPmodel 2600 + 2.13GHz.. 40GB udma HD (5400rpm) an 1.37GB of RAM it has WIN XP home edition.... sorry so long hope to hear from some one .. an if yall can help with this i have similar questions to do with my laptop as well thanks again in advance

Looks like that PC only has a slot for AGP video cards, which are no longer sold. You might be able to find one on e-bay or something. There are also VGA to HDMI adapters, but honestly, if at all possible, it would just be better to get a newer computer, even if it were used or off lease or something. It also has XP, which should not be used online now that there are no security updates being released, and unless you have an unused copy of Win 7 that PC is not worth the cost of purchasing a copy of windows.
