where can you find a $30 coupon that works for laptops at staples? I looked around for awhile and found a lot on ebay to buy and a few for free.. but every coupon has this on it:

Offer expires 9/16/09. Valid in Staples U.S. stores, by phone at 1-800-333-3330 or online at staples.com. Limit one per customer, nontransferable. Minimum purchase requirement of $150 must be met with purchases to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies. Excludes desktop and laptop computers. May not be combined with any other coupon. Coupon must be surrendered. No copies/facsimiles. No cash/credit back. Not valid on services, custom printing orders placed online, promotional products, gift cards, postage stamps, prior purchases, Staples Industrial purchases or any purchases on other provider Web sites. Tax and shipping not included in calculating minimum purchase.

I'm in for one. I ordered it online and will pick it up in-store tomorrow. Seems as good or better than any recent laptop deals....

Good deal. It was available on staples.com for ~$320AR about a month ago, but I really think this is still a good buy.

It is a good deal. I got one for my son for college. The only problem we had was the wireless kept on disconnecting. There were no new drivers availble at the Compaq/HP website. I searched the web for the wireless model in our laptop and found a new driver. It fixed the problem.

Search google for sp37913.exe if you have problems with the wireless card.

ANyone know how this CPU stacks up to the Celeron 900 that a lot of the sub $400 laptops have? Wife is looking for something to do book keeping on, mainly Quickbooks, and I want to make sure the CPU is ok for this.

the T4200 will run circles around the celeron 900, I have this model, I use it with quickbook enterprise on a wireless network, it runs fast enough to do everything well.

Celeron is cheaper, but this is a great value... IMHO....

Got mine on Sept 1, and I do love it! The WiFi is awesome (Great distances), and everything else performs flawlessly.
Only complaint is that the speakers sound "tinny". But who wouldn't expect that out of laptop speakers??

Overall, I'd give it an 8 on a 1-10 scale....

I did find a problem, whether it is hardware or software related, I don't know.

It is the same problem the Macgyversite had above. The web browser stops functioning after about 15 minutes of use. Doesn't matter if I am in Internet Explorer or Firefox. It will give an error that the site cannot be reached and if you click on the "diagnose problem" button in Internet Explorer, it says everything is fine. I have the sleep mode for the wireless shut off in Power Management, I tried the driver that Macgyversite recommended above, etc. I have to reboot in order for it to come back. Anyone with any ideas?

Thanks,

Bob

If you applied online and uploaded (or sent in) your proof of purchase, then contact the following:

We are also available at 877-280-2279 from 10AM to 10PM Eastern time Monday through Friday, and 12PM to 4:30PM Eastern time on Saturdays.

I got an email that stated that my order was "not complete and all info had been submitted", even though I had done so. A call to their 877 told me all is well. BTW, you can stack up to five(5) Win7 upgrades to save s/h cost ($12.99 for 1 plus $3.50 each for 2-5)

Hope this helps.
