Found this in the "Hot Deals" yesterday and picked up a couple. I was installing WOW on it last night and got a message telling me the cpu was not up to spec. WOW only requires 800mhz. I installed anyway, but with all the updates I did not get a chance to run it. Even if it was reading one core I should not have gotten that message.

No, I did not buy it to game on. Got it to have a sys that we could carry around the house for tunes, surfing and that kind of crap. ....but I figured WOW should not be a problem.

Did speedstep throttle the clock back? Try disabling speedstep in the BIOS.

No dice. I cant do jack int he bios. I can only change boot seq....grrr. Guess I need to buy a real copy of Vista and bag this compaq "restore sys" one..
