Compaq Presario 3030 Problem

This computer has a 1.6Ghz Athlon XP processor, but the chip always runs at 797mhz.

I installed speedswitch XP, but speedswitch XP says the max speed of the chip is 797mhz.

Nothing makes the thing run at it's full 1.6 ghz.

What other options are there?

I already set the power settings to always on.
 
Compaq tech support provided updated AMD processor driver, speedswitch XP now correctly forces processor to 1.6ghz in all circumstances.
