You have to go to your store and order it and then it will be shipped to you. It shows Tallahassee store because that is where I live.

Ordered one and they accepted my Staples $30 off $150 coupon to boot! Delivery of computer and printer in about 2 weeks (fine with me). I'm having it delivered to the store as it might come while I'm out of town for Thanksgiving. At least then I won't have to worry about it sitting on my front porch for days.

Well worth it to me to not have to wait hours in line on Black Friday hoping to get one (although I have managed twice to snag Best Buy's $499 AR notebook.)

Holy toledo Batman! This it pretty hot! It has a 15in screen and a Intel Celeron M cpu which is the exact same chip as the Pentium-M but with just 1/2 the cache turned off and Dynamic Speedstep disabled and it has a printer! I am on this! Called up my office depot for the details, What you do is go to their store and configure it there, they send the order off and then it is mailed to you. anyone know if there are any coupons I could use to bring it down more?

You can also choose to have it shipped to the store, if that is more convenient. I used a Staples coupon and they accepted it. (I called first and checked to see if they would. One store said no, other one said "sure!")

Great deal!

Just one - my husband's. Bought it at Best Buy (499 deal). Bought one for my daughter year before that ($499 BB deal again). I purchased several in the past from Dell refurbished shop for my husband's company. This one is for ME! (or maybe for son-in-law depending on any better deals that come along before Christmas, hee, hee.)

hmmm is this a good deal? Sounds pretty good to me though its a Celeron. Anyone know of anything that could top this? i'm looking for a notebook for my girlfriend. I dont know how 'bad' these celerons are. She would be upgrading from a 500mhz celeron desktop though.... and all she pretty much would do with it is typing and web browsing... i just want to make sure it wouldnt be frustraitingly slow for her in any way.... hmmmm

Tax is a real killer for some people, and the rebates are too. Here is an alternative suggestion that might be helpful to some.

Office Depot:
? Processor operates at 1.3GHz
? 256MB DDR SDRAM memory
? 40GB 4200 RPM hard drive
? 8x DVD-ROM drive
? Windows® XP Home
? HP 3847 Deskjet printer
799.99 - 30 Instant Rebate = 769.99
+ 63.52 tax (TX) = 833.51
+ 39.50 shipping = 873.01
- 220 Rebates = 653.01 Final Cost

HPshopping.com
SAME as above except w/out printer
$679.00 - 50.00 Instant savings = 629.00
- $30 Rebate = 599.00
- 18.87 Fatwallet = 580.13 Final Cost
Free shipping, no tax (FOR SOME) and only ONE rebate for $30 to wait for!!!
I tried the 10% coupon but it didn't work!!! big =(

So you'll be paying about 70 bucks for that "free" printer. I hate that OD and other retailers make it seem like they are offering you an amazing deal when really, it's not much (if at all) less than buying it direct. They wow you with all these rebates that just bring the price down from their huge markups. Of course, like I said, it's tax and shipping that kill this deal for me, so it might be different for some. thanks!

For what she does then this should be fine. The celeron m's are actually solid processors, unlike the pentium 4 celerons. They're fairly close to pentium m's in performance, even with less cache. Main difference is the celeron m's have shorter battery life since they lack speed step. So unless battery life is a big concern it'll probably be ok.

Here`s a link from another retailer for a Celeron M 1.3GHZ http://www.compusa.com/product...=315192&pfp=BROWSE.

Now check out this link for an HP Pentium M, http://www.compusa.com/product...=315183&pfp=BROWSE. This one has
2 MB L2 cache.at 1.6 GHz. Thus the Celeron M has 75% of the L2 Cache disabled, as compared with today`s Pentium M. Just wanted to clear that up.

Well it depends which pentium m you're comparing it to. The donthan core pentium m's are 2mb cache, however the older banias are 1mb cache. The celeron m's based on the donthan will have either 512kb cache or 1mb.

Four rebates kills this a bit, it's not as if I want the cruddy printer either!

Plus $75+tax for another 256Mb would be needed.

modedepe~

I have not seen any Celeron M chips with 1MB L2 cache. But then again, I don`t have it all figured out. If you can show a link to such a Cely, I would be interested in looking it over. I believe you mean dothan~ but please enlighten me.

Thanks TC, thats what I was looking for. Sadly the Cely in this notebook listed by the OP does not utilize
90nm technology. Thanks for doing the research .
