I'm just a foolish n00b, so don't crap me to pieces... but this looks like a good deal. The same RAM goes for upwards of 150+ at many other places, and even if you don't need the ECC, this is pretty damn cheap anyway. I think it's a pricing error, but there's only 27 left, so hurry!

Shipping was $8 for me, although YMMV.
I'm not sure if ECC is entirely backwards compatible with non-ECC ram, though I'm sure someone here can enlighten me on the subject. Best competitor for the same product I saw was the pqi Power PC2100 512 mb for $62 at Newegg.

Its a decent deal. I probably wouldn't order from them since I have never heard of them. Maybe check their reseller ratings. But if they are legit, then if you need ecc memory, this is definitely a decent deal.

It will depend on your motherboard if it will work or not. Only 18 left now, so some people think it's a good deal. :) Probably can't lose even if you end up reselling it on EBay. I may even pick up a pair for one of our servers.

No unless you have a computer that takes ECC its no good and most do not take ECC.

WAIT a second this smells like spam, is this your site or a friend's? LOL

Silly Juice... tricks are for kids.
Also, I've heard the same vague responses about ECC ram all over the place... apparently there is no definitive rule when it comes to backwards compatibility. :-(.

The definitive answer is, no, ECC is not interchangable with non-ECC memory. Any board, however, that supports ECC will also support non-ECC. Server boards are always ECC compatible so this would work say in a 400SC. Low to medium grade desktop boards seldom give you ECC capability, but it may be an undocumented feature, so give it a try.....can't hurt as far as I know.
