There is a thread about this over at FW, posted by riffparker complete with link to scan of ad. Supposed to start May 15. Sounds good if you need cheap and can handle 3 (one BIG) rebates.

How odd. It seems to have disappeared - or I just can't find it either. It was there all morning. I was watching it waiting for some kind of confirmation (the scan) before posting it here. I hope there's nothing wrong with the deal.

Yep it appears it was deleted, I also searched for "R4000" in Deal Discussion forums, nothing.

hot deal, tempted to upgrade to 512 RAM

I would definitely stick more RAM in it. Other than that, it looks fine for a basic use laptop. You're not going to get a lot for $400.

Dont forget tax on $729 AND Shipping charges which is about $40..in CA, that itself is around $110..not to mention the additional $8 for recycling fee..and suddenly it does not look all that hot

Is this deal for just tomorrow or is it going to be all week long? I really want to get in on this, but I don't want to get it unless I get my new job, and I won't know until Monday...

maybe r4000z?

How much better would the $100 upgrade to the A64 3200+ be? Ebaying the printer would likely cover half of it, or the memory upgrade.

*Quantities limited. 1 per household. Not available via mail order. Postage and sales tax required for mail-in rebates. **Some software is preloaded. Software manuals/media not included. ?Actual speed and capacity may vary. Shipping and handling charges extra. This price is too hot! Does not qualify for Cruise Bundle.

The "out the door" price, (for calculating the sales tax), would amount to $649.99 [+ taxable (?) shipping and handling charges] . (Or, if the terms for the "$50 Instant Savings" & MIR's allow declining the "free" printer: $599.99).

Can anyone post a good link at Compusa for this? I have searched by SKU and by model number and tried changing the model number, tried Compusa's business site. I can't find any reference to this at all.
Any help would be appreciated.
