Office Depot has, 7/29-8/04, the Compaq Presario CT500 notebook for $299.99 after $150 MIR. This is configure to order so you have to pay shipping from China which can be anywhere from $20 to $50 (from what I've seen with other deals.) Still pretty cheap if you need a basic notebook. Must be ordered in a store. Configuration code 32670032.

I stopped by my local OD to check this out and to probably order it. But the manager told me it was a $69 shipping fee. That kills it for me. After the upgrade and shipping I'm looking at $445 plus tax, and I think I can probably do better if I shop around. (And if not, I can always go back on Saturday and order it anyway.)

Looks like it's too much of a hassle for what you get-- plus I need the computer fairly shortly. Too bad there aren't any other deals like this out, but thanks for finding this one anyway.
