compaq mobo.. can i upgrade to duron?

i got a compaq pc/mobo and i dont have the specs.. i have a k6 500mhz...i was wondering if i can upgrade it do a duron or tbird. if the mobo supports k6 .. would it be able to support duron? thanks.

No you can't. The K6-2 line of CPU's is known as "Super Socket 7" (super because of the 100MHz front side bus). You'll need to replace the Motherboard to do it.
