Need some advice on this one.

I have a Compaq Presario 5474, i810E-DC100 with Celeron 500 & 64Mb RAM.
Can I use any kind of standard PC-100 RAM for it or do I need to pay more $$$ for Compaq memory?
Any one tried standard stuff, and which ones work?

thanks
Christian

Crucial

I wouldn't buy the cheapest memory but crucial is good mem at a cheap Price.

They didnot have a listing for 5474 but here is the 5475. If it is a desktop it more than likely takes Standard SDRAM.

I just bought more memory today from crucial for my compaq. I just followed their memory finder thing. I sure hope it is all correct. Crucial comes highly recommended, so I hope it works!

You don't even need PC100(but it wouldn't hurt). PC66 will be fine as a Celly 500 runs at 66mhz FSB, unless you're overclocking.

Great help, thanks a lot (again).
To goldboy: It need to be PC100 since the chipset i810E-DC100 uses 100MHz memorybus, but the FSB to the processor is actually only 66MHz.
