about 3 weeks ago i got a

for $380.00 out the door at BestBuy, no tax it was tax free weekend.

This is basically the same performance laptop for the same price.

$380.00 + $20.00tax =$400.00 - $30.00 rebate = $370.00 around, din't get free printer or any of that though.

considering i just sold a 1.3ghz celeron laptop with 512mb ram and combo drive that was 2 years old for $300.00, this is a pretty good deal.

best buy has the same thing for $350.00 out the door, no rebate, but NO free printer and other stuff either.

these 2 laptops are almost the exact same performance, just 1 is AMD and 1 is INTEL.

AMD IS 1.8GHZ WITH 512KB CACHE
INTEL IS 1.6ghz WITH 1MB CACHE

BOTH HAVE 512MB RAM
Both have 80gb 5400rpm hard drive
both have dvd+-rw drive
both have wireless 54G/b
both have 15.4" screen
intel has gma900 graphics
amd has Geforce6150
believe it or not the Intel graphics scores higher in 3dmark01. but only like 5 to 10% higher, so really not noticeable.

i grabbed the one from best buy for a friend, it was $367.00 with tax, plus i get like $15.00 form my zone card, i tried to used the 12% off coupon i got in the mail from BestBuy, but was denied.

it was worth a try to save maybe $40.00, but no go on the coupon.

i grabbed the exact same ram too. best deal right now, although it has been as low as $20.00 for 1gb corsair after $25.00 rebate, but no deals this week.

Aren't the older 3DMocks more affected by CPU speed? Also, I think the Nvidia IGP will likely do better in a real world game. Still, either one is a great deal - wish I had seen this around 4 hours ago!
