I just got a laptop and wireless network for Christmas yesterday, and I am stuck on getting it to work. I have the gateway I mentioned in the title and a D-Link DWL-650 card in the laptop. I have @home (I guess ATTBI now) cable internet.
What happens is I connect the cable modem and desktop computer (by wired network) to the CP-2W and everything works for an average of about two minutes. After that, for no discernable reason, the Internet connection will completely stop working to both computers. However, the connection is still good, and I can still share files between the two computers. Rebooting the router or renewing the external IP address will solve the problem for another two minutes or so, at which point the internet connection breaks again.
I tried this setup with a D-Link DI-713P router as well, and had the same problem.
Any ideas or suggestions or anything would be appreciated, I've already exhausted all my own ideas on fixing this.
