I have some questions which i am confuse as to how it happens.
My dads compaq has been acting strange lately. it's a compaq presario 5868 i believe but i know for sure it's the 58xx model. To the point, it's a p3 450mhz processor w/ an AT motherboard at 165W. problem is the computer for some reason keeps on starting by itself after i shut it off already. I don't know when it starts or how long after shutdown it starts, everytime i come back to it it starts. The thing is, it usually doesn't start right after you shut down. I don't know the timeframe of when it happens.
If any of you guys have this problem!!!?? Please help, makes me think i'm going crazy.
Second question is gay floppy drive. I have a epox 8k5a2+ board with a barton 2500+ running standard 166fsb. I don't know why the floppy is acting gay. it is connected correctly and is functional. The drive also reads floppy disks fine. It is a sony floppy disk drive BTW. The problem is that everytime i write something onto a disk it screws it up and the disk is pretty much done. I mean if i save something onto the disket drive and after it gets done writing and complete without errors, i try to access the disk then i get message error "error reading drive a:" or something like that. I thought it was the disk so i have try like 20 different disks, brandnew and same results. So next step i swap the disket drive to the compaq and the drives reads and writes fine. OMG..... then i put the mitsumi drive(from the compaq) into mine and i get the same errors.
So i conclude that it isn't the disks nor the floppy drive, Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong or what is wrong with my system?
