compaq audio drivers

i went to the compaq website and they said for win98 i need

Presario Specific Models ESS 1869/1887/1888 Audio Driver


but on the xp page it says "none found"

can i use this 98 driver?

or does anyone know where i can get this for XP?

it is a presario 5000

You should be able to get an XP driver from here.

Also, when did Compaq get bought out by HP? I must have been sleeping for the last few months
