My buddy's laptop wont run faster than 800MHz and since he does a lot of computation intensive work on it, its really getting on his nerves. Can someone please share a fix for this very annoying problem?
Download the RM Clock Utility (formerly known as AMD64CLK) Configure it, make sure it runs on startup, and make sure you uncheck the option "Force Minimal Profile on Batteries". You can set it up to run your CPU at any speed it supports, at any time. When I'm on battery, I usually set it to autmatic management so that it jumps around from 800-2200MHZ based on need in increments of 200mhz. When I'm plugged in I set it to maximal (2200MHZ). This is on a Gateway 7422gx which also has an A64 processor.
