I sold this to my sister real cheap. The other day her husband was using it and he said he unplugged and cord (while the laptop is still on) and move it to the living room. And the screen went blank. She brought over and I looked over. When I boot it up it went all the way to windows and it went blank. I thought it was the hard drive ( I had that problem before) After I bought Macbook I put that away for couple months not being used and it will randomly freeze during booting up at Windows logo after several try it will boot up with no problem. I try to put a brand new hard drive in there see if I can boot it up and reinstall the Windows. When I turn it on it will access the CD and nothing on screen and that's it.

I know enough about desktop but I don't really know much about Laptop. I never open one up except installing memory and hard drive. Will resetting the CMOS help?

Does anybody ever encounter this problem?
Any help would be greaty appreciated.

It could also be bad battery. Try removing it completely and running only on the A/C adapter.

Another possibility is that the backlight tube in the LCD burned out.

I did exactly what you said. I removed the battery and try to boot up with AC.
It came on. I have the operating system in the and I don't want to reinstall so I didn't hit any key when it ask me to. I press and hold power button to shut it of and remove the disc.
Now when I boot up. It's doing the same thing all over again. Nothing, blank blank blank and by the way I removed the old hard drive and put the new one in and was gonna put the Windows on it.
