Compaq 2100z Question about Brightness Settings on Battery

How do you allow the laptop to keep the max brightness settings while on battery power? I heard on other HP/Compaq lappies, it retains the setting so you don't have to set the brightness to max every time you boot using a battery....Mine does not do this...

 
Maybe it has something to do with your power settings? Try setting it to home/office and see what happens.

I have the same notebook and I didn't find anything in the manual.
