Company's "press release" on sites like yahoo

Does anyone know how company's come out with press releases on sites like biz.yahoo.com? There is a company that has two employees that I know, that just barely launched their website, and they have their own article on biz.yahoo.com! Do they have contacts there, or is it like a fee based system? Anyone know?

any personal experience? Costs involved? i'm browing through their site right now. I know that the company that did the press release on yahoo does not have a lot of funds.
