i've had a pair of northwave legends for 2 years, going on my 3rd season. first off, i love these boots - the inner lining is great, the lacing system is awesome, the boot itself is also amazing, and the fit is uber solid.
i'm a pretty agressive rider so i tighten my boot and bindings very tight for that extra bit of responsiveness. well, when you put all your strenght into tightening laces, and you ride every weekend, you can put some serious wear and tear on your boots. for the most part, they have held up, but the loops/eyelets on the inner lining have ripped once. this was last year - i called northwave and they sent me a new pair of linings, no questions asked.
this year, i realized that my laces were wearing down and called in for a replacement. again no questions asked. when i received the laces, and began to lace up my boot, i realized that the loops/eyelets on the inner lining were ripping, and if i were to tighten them up once or twice, they would rip. so i call northwave and they send me a second pair of brand new inner linings. keep in mind that the lining on northwaves are slighly more intricate and cost a lot more than typical snowboard boot linings. what's more, i told northwave that i would be going home within the next few days - they overnighted the lining free of charge.
now that's fvcking customer service.
cliff notes:
1) awesome boots
2) received free replacement inner lining during second year of use (willing to bet that they comprise about 25-35% of the cost of these $200 boots)
3) received free laces 3rd year
4) received free replacement inner lining during 3rd year + free overnight shipping
5) northwave owns, i will never buy any other pair of snowboard boot, and neither should you
