So is there a way to have my men exit a vehicle right away?

As it is, I click the exit vehicle button (or keyboard shortcut) and click on the battlefield and the vehicle drives to the spot to unload the men. Even if I click on a spot on the vehicle, the vehicle will sometimes drive the 3 inches (and sometimes make a 180 degree turn) and then unload.... precious seconds wasted.

If you click the exit vehicle button without any of the transported units selected, they will all jump out.
