Our company is pretty small, about 20 people or so. Every year they have a Christmas "party", which is really just a dinner at a local pub/grill. There was 45 people there with our +1 (spouses and whatnot), so we filled up quite a bit of the place. We had our choice of bacon wrapped steak, goat-cheese stuffed chicken, or salmon.
FANTASTIC food, first two drinks were on the company, we pretty much took over the place and went crazy. Our finance assistant had about 8 pineapple martini's, ended up puking in the bathroom, and had to be carried to her car by her husband.
All the guys in the company were taking part in Movember, growing mustaches and raising money for the month of November. Part of that is that we were having a contest to see who could grow the cheesiest mustache. Someone had the bright idea of getting the whole restaurant involved, so we had to parade around and let everyone look at us, and then cheer for the best one. The guy who ended up winning is one of our programmers, Kevin. He's skinny, short, and Chinese. He didn't even grow a mustache, just a bit of stubble, and that took all month. He got some random guys to start cheering his name, and it caught on, so he won the contest (which there was no prize for, and we all paid $20 to take part in, which went to the Prostate Cancer Society of Canada as a donation).
Since it's Saturday night, they play music bingo, which we got a little too much into, and kept interrupting by continuing to sing the songs after they stopped playing them.
Overall a wicked awesome evening, totally paid for by the company. Wish I had brought my camera, all I had was my cell which totally sucks (especially in low light), but I know others were taking pictures so come Monday I'll be uploading some
