T-Mobile: They've been the nicest CS reps I've dealt with in a long time.
Netflix: Their first-line phone rep was able to troubleshoot a fairly complex, esoteric error on a Win7MC computer on the first try.

If you don't want to do online chat, you can give them your phone number and they will call you. This is actually a lot better than having a phone # you call, a phone tree, and then a wait on hold. Amazon has the best CS of any online store, period.

yup, i'd rather not waste time on hold.
i email their CS and usually get a response within an hour, and usually resolved in one email exchange.

wanted to give some recognition for excellent companies who take care of their customers.

amazon - they have a customer forever here
newegg - they're the amazon of computer hardware
chase - good reward cards, easy to dispute false charges
amex - their amex blue price protection program was awesome back in the day
lowes - my local one is great with returns, price matching, etc. YMMV.

Amazon has always been good to me. I've returned a dozen things over the years and they've always take care of me.
I make sure to not buy too much from their third party dealers. Especially Buy.com. Those guys are crap.

Newegg has slipped over the years but I still like them.

I hate Lowes. They support illegals. But other than that I hear they are fine.

American Express (Excellent service and they will go to bat for you if you have an issue. You can talk to an actual English speaking person within minutes of calling their 800 number.)

Zalman (I'd rate them as having amazing service. Customer for life here. I called and asked for a parts replacement number and they sent me free parts 2-3 years after the purchase. One of many tales I can tell and others I know have had similar experiences with them. I now own, have owned, or purchased for other people's builds nearly 50 CPU or GPU coolers.)

Ace Hardware (I always seem to have someone available to help out who is knowledgeable. They always help me with heavy stuff without me having to ask too. Pretty consistent from store to store in Missouri at least as well.)

Monoprice (Been good with returns and always ship ridiculously quickly.)

Amazon (Good prices and can find nearly anything on their website. Excellent returns policy too.)

Absolute worst ever - Dell Home (I just absolutely refuse to buy anything from them. Not worth the headache at any price.)

This will bring about much trolling; but aside from widely accepted good customer service from Amazon, I have always had great experiences with customer service from Best Buy AND Comcast. Any problem I've ever had has been fixed immediately and with no hassle.

I'm surprised so many people mention Corsair. They shipped me some memory that UPS damaged and it was a clusterfuck getting it straightened out. They would have screwed me if I didn't have decent records of every step I took and hoop I had to jump through.

I've had good experiences with Crutchfield, Amazon and Logitech.

Worst: Comcast

Charter cable has to be up there too.

I've only talked to CS a handful of times. Two I can remember that were good:

TigerDirect - RMA video card, paid for shipping back, full refund including shipping.

Western Digital- sent me new drives in advance, shipped dead ones back in same box with included return shipping label. This happened 3 times though, switched to Seagate, Intel ssds and Samsung.

Oh and Samsung almost forgot. Their corporate CS is pretty bad, but the actual service tech that came out was cool as hell. Corporate fucked up, and he got on the phone with them and then walked me through how to get them to just ship me an entirely new tv.

the techs that come on site are not samsung employees.
samsung has notoriously bad CS.

Never been disappointed at Trader Joe's or Nordstrom.

I'm a huge Costco fanboy but their policies are great rather than their customer service. Workers there have pissed me off plenty of times and they are not as friendly as Joe's or Nordstrom.

Came here to post pretty much this (though I haven't had any business with Nordstrom, so I can't comment).

Trader Joe's always has the most friendly people working there. Its actually pleasant shopping there, not to mention their prices are great (on some things, not so much on others (milk, for example, is way overpriced compared to Costco)), easy return policy, and fast lines.
I once asked why everyone who works there seems so happy, the guy said it was the pills they fed them each morning :)

Costco of course has an nice easy return policy too, but the employees don't care as much as Trader Joe's.

Amazon.com of course has great customer service. No questions asked returns, prompt service, etc.

Also had a very good experience with Coastal Contacts, some coating on my wife's eyeglasses got quite "foggy" from a few small scratches, and they sent out a replacement pair and we will send back the current ones when the new ones arrive. $180 glasses too, so I'm glad I didn't have to buy new ones. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Great service.

That's more or less the extent of my dealings with customer service (to any meaningful degree).
