Companies I Love and Hate

My opinion...

Nvidia - hate (for strong arming Kyro and buying 3dfx + Hercules disaster)
Microsoft - hate (for many things + activation in Win XP)
IBM - love (no one hates IBM)
Via - love (nothing againts Via)
Kyro - love (Maybe the next nvidia)
Sony - hate (just a brand name...no quality anymore)
ATi - not sure (love the radeon, hate their drivers)
Intel - not sure (high prices + strom arming Via + cooler cpus)
AMD - not sure (low prices + cpu too hot! + fast cpus)
Asus - love (best mobo i ever had CUSL2-C)

Nvidia..I worry they may be the next 400 lb gorilla
Microsoft..Dont really care, at least they brought some kind of standards to an industry that was desperately in need. Kick butt optical devices.
IBM..old school dinosaur, who cares
VIA..Like them
Kyro..reserving opinion, no experience.
Sony, kind of over hyped, some people think Sony invented air.
ATi.. indifferent
Intel..indifferent
AMD.. indifferent
ASUS..Love em
Iiyama..Its a love thing baby
Logitech..Ummm who?
3dfx..I still have a soft spot in my heart for the company that introduced me to the world of 3D. I really wish they could have pulled their sh1t together.
Creative..there is a special place in hell for the designers of some of their products

Nvidia - indifferent
Microsoft - like - if it wasn't for MS, this forum and the whole phenomenon of OCing probably wouldn't exist.
IBM - I like thier laptops and hard drives 🙂
Via - dislike - they make lousy products, I wont buy them
Kyro - have no experience with them.
Sony - like thier monitors, TVs, picture tube stuff... but nothing else.
ATi - eh, they're ok.
Intel - like thier product, but not thier company's philosophy.
AMD - big thumbs up to AMD.
MSI - I like my MSI stuff 🙂

NVDIA - "Hey, we need a little competition here" .. because of them, I've seen the average price of a decent 3d video card go from $90 to $300.
IBM - "What the hell do we do to make money?"
CISCO - "We're going to copy IBM on that statement and everything else."


PEPSI - YUM (daddy works there)
COKE - YUK (daddy doesn't work there)
TROPICANA - BEST OJ in the WORLD!
RIAA - "We are trying not to be phased out by the public so we will control what you listen to."
DELL - "We are cool so we don't use the best AMD chips."
COMPAQ - "We try to dumb down the population a bit so they're scared to open their computers."
EPSON - "1 page per $50 ink cartridge."

notfred.... How you gonna give a Big thumbs up to AMD & Say you hate Via... If it werent for via & the kx133 & kt133 chipsets where would amd be? I am Guessing Close to nowhere....




Nvidia - Kick ass products & Despite the strong arm politics I Think that falls in with there over all AGRESSIVE Nature
Microsoft - the Company everyone Loves to Hate... 3.1 rocked
IBM - Nice Hard Drives
Via - Love Em... Never had a problem with a via Chipset
Kyro - Indiffrent... If they can step up to the plate & Give nVidia some Comp. that it would be awesome.
Sony - Over Priced for what ya get.... It's all the name.
ATi - ummmm Not bad, but not nVidia
Intel - ummm intel is suck... I hate there prices & They way they think they own everyone's loyalty
AMD - All I Pay full price for..
Asus - Not bad, but I like my abit better.

I would say the Geforce2 Pro is at least &quot;decent&quot; for around $120-130. The latest and greatest video card out does not constitute decent, its meant for people who have the money and are willing to spend it for their toys. Some people are still chugging along just fine on V3s.

AMD- Love for pushin speeds higher while giving Intel a kick in the arse, and their stock
Microsoft- Everyone hates them for various reasons including me, but they do make some nice mice🙂

Nvidia - idnifferent - every company tries to squeeze other companies, my uncle owns a company that sells products to Walmart (like 2/3 of their business) and they make him buy all sorts of expensive equipment and pay for their ads - he still makes a tidy profit though 🙂

Microsoft - love - why does everybody hate them so badly? ok, so they've bankrupted a few companies, but for the most part the reason for this is that they simply make the best stuff. I wouldn't want to be Roxio when XP comes w/ CD burning built in, though...

IBM - bah who cares, they send me a cool looking brocheure every year though (stock owner, 1 share, yipee)

VIA - love - only owned one VIA product, Asus CUV4X - it rocks, no problems

Kyro - dunno

Sony - dunno - my dad is in love w/ them...have no idea why - they do make quality stuff though i think, but not worth the premium

ATI - dunno

Intel - love - smart company, does stuff to make a tidy profit for shareholders, leading innovator, all the Intel products I have owned have been quality, if perhaps a little expensive

AMD - dunno - I like what they are doing over there now, competition is fantastic for the industry. But my Athlon Slot-A system was instable and i never figured out why. I don't see myself going back to them anytime soon...if your spending $1500 on a system upgrade, is $1650 really that much more $? Also I hate the zealots on this board, which seem to multiply by the day...

Asus - love - K7M (Athlon-motherboard) was regarded to be the best...I didn't like it. CUV4X is great.

Dell - love - everybody rags on Dell for being expensive and not supporting AMD, but I recommend them for laptops and when somebody won't let me build them a system

HP - love - who doesn't like HP? the best stuff made for printers.

Budweiser - love - great commericials 🙂
