First off, let me show the exact routers I have (2):

http://www.linksys.net/products/product.asp?grid=33&scid=35&prid=679

My net setup / request (both routers are WRT54GC's): router-a is in one room with wired internet. router-b is roughly 200 feet away in another room. I want router-b to connect to router-a wirelessly and allow wired clients from router-b (xbox & pc etc.) to access the internet (if possible).

Here is the manual (pdf) for more reference:

What I am trying to accomplish is the same thing in this thread:

Now, in the thread he explains exactly how to bridge WRT54G(S) routers either together or with one in a network. Problem is, sveasoft has yet to make a hacked firmware for the compact version of that router (which I have).

I thought I was SOL, but I did notice on the advanced networking tab of the router (page 21 of the pdf) that there are options for to add / delete the routing tables for lan & wireless connections. I was hoping that I could configure a static route to allow router-b to connect to router-a somehow. I've messed around with it a little, but not having much routing knowledge I would need some help.

Would it be possible to bridge these routers without one of them being in "client mode" (since it doesn't exist) through routing tables (since I can add them)?

Please help shine some light, anything is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time

It is Not a Routing issue.

In order to connect as Wireless Client the Radio in the Wirless part of the unit needs a firmware that progams the radio to work in special Mode. The oroginal Firmware does not provide this capacity.
