what is the best brand of compact flash?

is Mr. Flash a good brand?

how is compact flash 'rated'? is any one type or brand faster than the other or do they all run at the same default speed?

any resources on which flash card to get would be helpful and appreciated. need some for my s330!

Well, I got a 128MB "Mr. Flash". I don't have any other CF cards this size, but this one seems pretty slow compared to my 32MB SanDisk card. At highest quality on my Canon S100, the storage of the photo seems to take quite a while (flashing LED on the camera while it is saving). It gets slower when the cards starts to fill up. There are some sites that show comparative times of different CF cards but it varies from camera to camera, try CF Card review. I don't think the "Mr. Flash" is there, but it is an interesting read nonetheless.

Whats the difference between Type 1 & Type 2 CF? Just curious...

I haven't heard alot of good responses about Mr. Flash except that it's cheap(big surprise). I personally would go with a name brand like SanDisk, Kingston, Viking or the like.

Heh Not sure what the difference between type 1 and type 2 CF cards is, but my camera takes type 1.
