Compact Flash or Secure Digital memory card?

price/megabyte, the best bang for your buck is with CF. For size, SD. For speed, I've seen reviews at dpreview.com where the fastest SD cards are faster than the fastest CF cards.

I vote SD. It's smaller and faster. The price advantage is slim--Ive seen 1 GB SD cards for $70 recently. As for capacity, CF does have the advantage, but 3-4 SD cards take up the save volume of 1 CF, so the difference can be made up if physical space is a factor.

I'm impartial to cf. I've used them over the years so often and never had data failure. Just the thought of losing priceless photos makes me afraid of switching.

It depends on how much music you want on it. I've got a 256mb Lexar SD card in my Ipaq and I can put more than 6 albums on it with room to spare. It's more than I personally need but if you've got an Ipod or something you might be used to alot more.

i got both and love both.. but i gotta say, with today's digital camera, (s400), i fille 1 256mb card (~134) pics with 1 battery.. the battery are out lasting my flash memory. Better off buying 512 or 1gb. Some of these 1gb are less than 50 bucks now.. same with SD. I seen them as low as 49 recently

Any one know where to find a decent flash memory bench test ?

I got one of those sandisk 6 in 1 reader and would like to know which of my flash cards are actually faster..
