compact flash I & II

What is the differance between compact flash types I and II? Is one faster?

Only form factor (physical dimensions), a type II card is larger in dimensions than a type I.

A type II CF slot accepts both type I and II cards. A type I CF slot only accepts type I cards.

There is no relationship between speed and whether the card is type I or II.
