comp won't get into bios

i decided to format my C today. copied stuff into other harddrives, restarted, went into bios, disabled all the drives but my dvd burner, trying to boot from winxp cd.

the hdd led light on the front of my case light up for a few seconds when i turn on my computer, then goes off and monitor receives no display. disconnected my raided harddrives, no go. replaced harddrive (old C drive with another harddrive), no go. took out the winxp cd, no go. cleared bios, no go.

did i miss something here?
