Here is the advertised deal I bought from CompUSA

CD-RW Media, 25 Pack.
> Manufacturer: Memtek
> Mfg Part #: 3202-3138
> CompUSA SKU: 249355
> CompUSA Price: $9.99*
> Buy Online:
> Usually Ships In: 72 Hours
> Find In-Store:
> *(After Savings & Rebates: $10.00 Mfr. mail-in rebate. Regular Retail
> Price:
> $19.99)

Here is the Link

After receiving the product and finding no rebate form on there site I have emailed them 3 times with out a response. I then contacted Memorex and here is there reply:Thank you for the information. I have researched again and confirm this with
my supervisor, and we do not find any rebate for this purchase at all. I'm
not sure why Comp USA advertised this rebate and saying that it is from us.
That's might be also the reason why you can't find the rebate form, because
there is no offer for this purchase. I apologize for the confusion and
misinformation. I will advise you to talk with Comp USA about this. I
apologize for the inconvenience.

alrighty.. first off... it would help if your link went somewhere... then you might want to check the site again cause i don't see the memtek 25pk of cdrw's advertised at 19.99... second off there's no rebate for the spindel... then another point might be... if it's memtek... why would you go to memorex? ... another point might be that if you copied that info off the site ... you'll notice it says "Find In-store: (......" wouldn't that hint to you that you might have to go into the store to pick up the MIR? just a few odd points... another would be how this is a odd forum to post this in....

" alrighty.. first off... it would help if your link went somewhere... "

It did go somewhere it has been removed as it was last weeks advertised special, it was also in there newspaper ad.

" then you might want to check the site again cause i don't see the memtek 25pk of
cdrw's advertised at 19.99... "

The info I posted was copied directly off there web site, again also in there ad. I just rechecked and they are now listed as 29.99 but I assure you they were 19.99 as I am holding the recipt in my hand. I did buy these.

" second off there's no rebate for the spindel... then another point might be... if
it's memtek... why would you go to memorex?"

Memtex is memorex maybe if you had read the whole post and the reply from memorex, or since you did a search if you look at the picture of the "Memtek" discs they clearly say Memorex on the label.

" ... another point might be that if you copied that info off the site ... you'll notice it
says "Find In-store: (......" wouldn't that hint to you that you might have to go into the store to pick up the MIR? "

No the find in store does not relate to the offer that is the for the box where you enter your zip code to Find in a local store I should have edited that out.

" just a few odd points... another would be how this is a odd forum to post this in:eek:"

I thought this was a good forum in case anyone else thought this was a good deal as I did and made this purchase. I read this forum every day and see many post such as "Problems with Rebate" Or "Possible problems with a deal" And I only posted after finding out from Memtek that there was no rebate and CompUSA refuses to answer my Emails.

Don't let the dweebs with a nasty outlook on life get you down. BTW, Cirucit City has a deal on Memorex 30 Pack Spindels on their WEB site and in their weekly mailer for their B&M's. This weeks price is $14.99 and you a $15.00 Circuit City mail in rebate. Thus a 30 pack will cost you tax plus a stamp minus a penny.

Jake,
Go to your local compusa and tell and show them your story. Let them know you purchased the cd-rs because of the rebate. Ask them nicely if they will honor their advertisment and provide the rebate to you directly.

They've always been good to me in MN on improperly rejected rebates.

Good Luck,
Pigseye

I agree with PigsEye,
I got an ATI video card and they wrongfull advertized for an expired rebate. I got the rebate money instantly.
What else can be better than that. A little drive.. instaCash and no postage.. -you may find use for the UPC later, wink;).wink;) )

I would like to do that. But will they honor it if I bought it online? Plus I have had terrible luck with the on here in Clearwater, Fl. They assured me for 3 weeks they would honor my raincheck and the drives were on order (zip cdrw) then call and say they are not going to fill the orders. I asked to speak to the manager (trying for a discount on another drive) they assured me they would call. Never happened I called back 2 more times same result. Last week I called on the new Zip CDRW drive sale and never received a call either. That is why I bought these discs over the web I saw one this board that those who ordered over the web are getting them even though they had to wait.

Anyway if anyone knows for sure that they can help me I will drive there. Anyone that lives in my area know if I would have more success driving to St. Pete or Tampa?

Try this number 1-800-332-9263. It's the number I was given for "rebate issues" when they screwed up one of mine.

The offer on the memorex is definitely in last weeks flyer, $19.99 with a $10 rebate. It's on page 11, right next to the fuji deal of 50cdrs, which i bought. Both the memorex and fuji deals state in the flyer that its a manufacturers rebate, but the fuji rebate, which i havent sent in yet, is from compusa.

If you go down to compusa, and say you bought the memorex last week but didnt get the rebate form, they will probably dig one up for you.
Especially if you go soon.

i wish i had picked up the rebate, as i was considering buying one, then i would send it to you.

good luck
